Dubai Residents Are Refraining From Ordering During Peak Heat

Summers in Dubai are undeniably hot, but the work must continue nonetheless. Many considerate members of the community believe that delivery riders should not be required to work and fulfill orders during such scorching weather conditions. They argue for the welfare and safety of these essential workers amidst the intense heat.

This community initiative is gaining traction on social media, encouraging people to refrain from placing online orders between 12pm and approximately 5pm. The goal is to support the well-being of delivery riders by reducing their exposure to the intense heat during these peak hours.

Residents are proactively working to minimize the duration delivery riders   spend outside during the hottest times of the day

However other members of the community believe this may hinder the riders’ jobs and wages

Commenters pointed out that riders typically earn their income based on the distance they travel and the number of orders they fulfill. If people decide to reduce the frequency of their orders, riders may not achieve their usual earnings.

At this point, it’s a matter of personal judgement.
