Dubai Marina is located on the west side of Dubai between Jebel Ali and Al Sufouh. It consists of 10 smaller districts. The Jumeirah Beach Residence is the most popular from them. It was projected and implemented by Emaar Properties, which operates under the government’s authority. The company also has created such sites as Downtown Dubai, The Dubai Mall, The Dubai Opera, Dubai Fountain and others.

The area surrounds the artificial harbor that extends up to 3 kilometers. That gives it the name “Dubai Marina” — “harbor for the yachts.” The construction began in 2003, and now is almost finished. Dubai Marina is planned to be the biggest artificial harbor for yachts, that will leave behind Marina del Rey in California, USA.
