DXB to welcome 3.43 million guests over the next two weeks

Exciting days on the horizon…

As the little ones gear up to head back to school at the end of the month, families are making their way back to Dubai from their travels. This means Dubai International (DXB) is set to be busier than ever over the next two weeks.

Dubai Airports has announced that DXB is poised to welcome 3.43 million guests over the next 13 days, from Wednesday, August 21 to Monday, September 2, 2024.

Daily traffic is anticipated to average around 264,000, with the busiest days likely falling in the second week, potentially reaching up to 291,000 guests.

DXB’s top tips for arriving passengers include using Smart Gates to expedite the passport control process. During peak times, passengers are encouraged to take advantage of the various amenities available, such as lounges, dining options, shopping outlets, and duty-free services.

When you’re ready to head out, consider taking the Dubai Metro, which conveniently has stations at DXB Terminals 1 and 3.

If a loved one is picking you up, they can make use of DXB’s designated car parks or valet services. Please note that access to the Arrivals forecourts at Terminals 1 and 3 is restricted to public transport and authorized airport vehicles only.

However, it might seem like DXB is always bustling, no matter when you travel—and you’d be absolutely right.

Reports indicate that DXB welcomed a record-breaking 44.9 million guests in the first half of 2024, reflecting an eight percent increase compared to the previous year.

In January 2024 alone, DXB managed nearly 8 million passengers, representing an 8.4 percent increase and marking the busiest quarter in its history.

If the current trend continues, DXB is projected to welcome a record 91 million passengers in 2024, surpassing the previous annual traffic record of 89.1 million set in 2018.

How likely is this to happen? Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, has stated that the airport is expected to ‘comfortably’ surpass 90 million passengers this year. He noted that this growth is partly driven by the expanded networks of Emirates and flydubai.

Safe travels everyone!
