That Dubai chocolate seriously hits different.
The iconic Dubai chocolate has been blowing up online for months—maybe even years—and if you haven’t heard of it yet, we’re gonna assume you’ve been totally off the grid. It first popped off on TikTok, sparking a global craving. Boutique dessert brand Fix was the OG to cash in, with their pistachio and kunafa chocolate selling out daily. Since then, a wave of copycats has jumped on the trend with their own takes.
According to the Financial Times, the global obsession with Dubai chocolate is now fueling a serious pistachio shortage. Pistachios, one of the key ingredients, were already in short supply after a weak harvest in the U.S.—the world’s top nut exporter. Now, with chocolatiers snapping up every pistachio they can find to keep up with the hype, the supply squeeze is getting even tighter.
The FT also revealed that Iran, the world’s second-largest pistachio producer, has stepped up big time—exporting a massive 40% more pistachios to the UAE between October 2024 and March 2025 than it did over the entire previous year. The Dubai chocolate craze is clearly driving a nut boom, literally.
Speaking of Dubai chocolate, there could possibly be a new one in town.
