Disney lovers, the wait is finally over — a Disney Theme Park and Resort is officially headed to Abu Dhabi!
Disney World and Resort is landing on the Yas Island waterfront, marking Disney’s seventh global entertainment hotspot—joining the iconic lineup in California, Florida, Tokyo, Paris, Hong Kong, and Shanghai.
Disney Abu Dhabi is set to launch through a powerhouse partnership between Miral and The Walt Disney Company.
Miral will take the lead on developing and building the resort, while Disney will handle the creative direction and offer operational support—making sure every detail stays true to that signature Disney magic.
His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan shared that bringing this entertainment hub to Abu Dhabi highlights the UAE’s and the emirate’s status as a top-tier global hotspot for entertainment and tourism.
Expanding on the project, Robert A. Iger, CEO of The Walt Disney Company, stated, “Abu Dhabi’s reputation as a world-class destination, its celebration of cultural diversity, and its bold vision for the future make it the perfect place for Disney to reach new families and welcome guests for generations ahead.”

The big reveal went down during a special event marking 15 years of Yas Island, hosted at the W Abu Dhabi hotel. The announcement brought together major players including His Excellency Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) and Miral, Disney CEO Robert A. Iger, Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro, along with key figures from the Abu Dhabi media scene.
