Construction for the project is set to start in November 2024, with the goal of improving traffic flow and connectivity in the heart of Dubai.
Five new bridges, totaling 5,000 meters, will connect five major roads around the Trade Centre Roundabout: Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street, Sheikh Rashid Street, 2nd December Street, Zabeel Palace Street, and Al Mustaqbal Street.
The Trade Centre Roundabout project will improve traffic flow and connectivity, doubling the intersection’s capacity. It aims to cut delay times from 12 minutes to just 90 seconds and reduce travel time from Sheikh Zayed Road to Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street from 6 minutes to a mere one minute.

The AED 696 million project features a two-lane bridge from Sheikh Zayed Road to Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street, stretching 1,000 meters and capable of accommodating 3,000 vehicles per hour. Additionally, it includes two two-lane bridges that will connect Sheikh Rashid Street with 2nd December Street.
His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors at the RTA, stated: “The Trade Centre Roundabout Development Project is part of a larger development plan that also includes the Al Mustaqbal Street Development Project, which will be awarded this November. This initiative will double the intersection’s capacity, reduce delay times from 12 minutes to just 90 seconds, and cut the travel time from Sheikh Zayed Road to Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street from 6 minutes to only one minute.”
“The project will serve multiple key locations, including the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), which has been the region’s largest venue for events and international exhibitions for over 40 years, hosting major events like GITEX, Arabian Travel Market, Arab Health, and Gulfood. It will also benefit the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), a prominent financial hub for the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia, as well as communities such as Zabeel, Al Satwa, Karama, Jafiliya, and Mankhool, impacting over half a million residents and visitors.”
Construction for the project will begin in November 2024 and is expected to be completed by December 2026.
