Etihad flights

Due to Etihad’s safety route adjustments, passengers departing from Abu Dhabi are warned to anticipate delays.

Etihad Airways has announced reroutes for several flights on Monday, June 23, and Tuesday, June 24, due to ongoing airspace restrictions in parts of the Middle East, according to Gulf News.

The UAE’s national carrier emphasizes that safety is the top priority but advises passengers to expect possible delays and disruptions over the next few days as the regional situation develops.

A spokesperson from Etihad told Gulf News,

“Etihad Airways flights only operate through approved airspace. Safety is always our highest priority, and we would never operate a flight unless it were safe to do so.”

What’s happening?

After rising regional tensions and Iran’s missile strike on a US Army base in Qatar Monday night, several Middle Eastern countries have shut airspace and imposed route restrictions, causing flight delays and reroutes across multiple UAE airlines.

Etihad hasn’t disclosed specific affected routes yet, but travelers flying in or out of Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport should stay updated on their flight status.

What should passengers do?

Etihad Airways has urged all passengers to:

  • Check their flight status on com
  • Allow extra time for airport formalities
  • Expect possible schedule changes or rerouting

What’s On will continue to monitor the situation and update readers as more official information becomes available.
