Drivers can now lock in vehicle inspection appointments without the hassle. That means no more waiting in long lines—just smooth, stress-free scheduling straight from your phone or laptop. Book it all easily through the RTA website or app.
This smart move is all about slashing wait times, easing traffic at testing centers, and boosting the overall customer experience.
Qais Al Farsi, Director of Vehicle Licensing at RTA’s Licensing Agency, shared that booking an appointment could cut wait times by up to 40%. It’s also set to balance the load at busy centers, especially where usage had already topped 80%.
Prefer to wing it instead of booking ahead? You still can—but only at Tasjeel Hatta. Everywhere else, walking in without an appointment will set you back an extra Dh100. So, might as well grab your phone and lock in that slot with just a few taps.

Back in January 2024, Dubai’s RTA dropped some game-changing news: the nol card system is getting a major upgrade. Soon, you’ll be able to tap in and out using just your phone—no more digging around for a physical card.
RTA revealed that the upgrade is set to wrap up by the end of 2026. As of March, the project was already 40% complete—well on its way to transforming how we ride.
The upgrade will transition from the current card-based setup to next-gen account-based ticketing (ABT) tech. This move is all about keeping Dubai in sync with global trends in digital payments and cutting-edge fintech solutions.
