The fees for residents and business owners will gradually rise over the next three years…
Dubai Municipality has revealed that it will be raising sewerage fees in the city for the first time in a decade. Over the next three years, a new tariff structure will be rolled out, affecting current customers who pay fees within areas managed by Dubai Municipality.
The new sewerage tariff structure in Dubai will see gradual increases over the next few years. In 2025, the cost will rise to 1.5 fils per gallon, followed by an increase to 2 fils per gallon in 2026, and then to 2.8 fils per gallon in 2027.
Since 2015, the fee has remained at 1 fil per gallon.
According to a statement from the Dubai Government media office, the fee increase is part of a broader effort to support infrastructure development as Dubai’s population continues to grow. With the population expected to reach 7.8 million, the primary goal of this adjustment is to encourage water conservation across the emirate. The move is aimed at promoting sustainable practices, preserving water resources, and building a future-ready urban infrastructure that can meet the evolving needs of both Dubai residents and visitors.
While the increase is notable, it remains well below global averages, according to the Dubai Government Media Office.
