The UAE just dropped a fresh AED 100 banknote, which started circulating on March 24. This bold new note blends tradition, innovation, and top-notch security in one sleek, modern design.

What’s new in the design?

The front of the note showcases the iconic Um Al Quwain National Fort, while the back highlights the Port of Fujairah. To give it a contemporary vibe, the note also features the Etihad Rail, a key project linking the UAE with GCC nations. The classic red hue is still there, but with enhanced printing techniques that make it pop.

Stronger, safer & smarter material

Crafted from sturdy polymer, the new AED 100 is built to outlast regular paper bills. It also comes with cutting-edge security features like Spark Flow Dimensions and Kinegram Colors to fight counterfeiting. Plus, for extra accessibility, the note includes Braille symbols, making it easier for visually impaired users to recognize its value.

The new AED 100 will circulate alongside existing AED 100 notes, both of which remain valid.
