Bluewaters Island arts festival April 2025

This April, Bluewaters Island will host a brand-new arts festival.

Bluewaters is becoming a hub for creative vibes…

It’s officially art season in Dubai, and there’s no shortage of cool stuff to keep you immersed in the culture scene. You’ve probably got the usual festivals marked in your calendar, but make sure to add this fresh one to the list: the Bluewaters Art Festival.

Happening at Bluewaters Dubai, this nine-day art fest is about to bring a burst of colour to one of the city’s most iconic waterfront spots. Kicking off this weekend, from April 12 to 20, 2025, the Bluewaters Art Festival is all about the theme ‘Reconnect’. Expect over 20 jaw-dropping murals, immersive installations, live performances, and hands-on workshops.

The whole thing unfolds under the stars, transforming Bluewaters Dubai into an epic open-air gallery. And since it runs from 4 PM to midnight, you can dive into the art without worrying about the midday sun.

The festival will feature art from 23 visionary creators hailing from the UAE, Turkey, New York, the UK, and beyond. With a goal to unite cultures, generations, and perspectives, it highlights art as a universal visual language through bold installations, mind-bending sculptures, and immersive sensory experiences.

Get ready for stunning murals, detailed fabric installations, and massive inflatable art pieces. For a deeper dive, visitors can explore interactive installations and discover thought-provoking sculptures scattered across the venue.

There are also indoor exhibits sprinkled throughout the island, giving you the chance to fully experience everything Bluewaters Dubai has to offer. One highlight you can’t miss is Kanvas Room, where you’ll be wowed by mesmerizing light installations and interactive, immersive art.

A specially curated gallery will showcase works from seven standout artists, including Areen Hassan, whose sensory installations draw inspiration from her Palestinian roots, and Kaveh Ahanger, whose digital murals and string art will create jaw-dropping connections with the structures of Bluewaters itself.

Feeling inspired to get creative? There are loads of hands-on workshops for both kids and adults to dive into, from fluid art and tote bag painting to shadow cutting and more. To join, simply spend Dhs150 or more at any Bluewaters venue, then show your receipt at the entrance. Just a heads-up: spots are first-come, first-served, so no reservations here—get there early to snag your spot!

There’ll also be immersive art talks and live performances to keep the vibe buzzing. And of course, you can grab a bite at one of the many restaurants on site.

Pro tip: Be sure to grab a map booklet at the venue—it’ll show you all the festival spots and must-see installations.
