3 Major Changes Happening In The UAE This October

Designed to enhance public safety, convenience, and quality of life, the UAE regularly rolls out new services and policy updates. Here are 3 major changes hitting UAE this October!

Mandatory Genetic Testing for Premarital Screening in Abu Dhabi

Mandatory Genetic Testing for Premarital Screening in Abu Dhabi

If you’re planning to get married in Abu Dhabi, starting October 1st, all UAE citizens will be required to undergo mandatory genetic testing as part of their premarital screening process. Couples can conveniently get tested at any of the 22 primary care centers across Abu Dhabi, Al Dhafra, and Al Ain. The test results, available within 14 days, play a vital role in identifying shared genetic mutations that could lead to preventable diseases in future children. This is a significant step toward ensuring the health and well-being of future generations of Emirati families in the country.

Express Entry to the U.S. for Emirati Citizens

Beginning in October, UAE citizens with valid U.S. visas can speed up their entry into the country through the Global Entry Program. This allows for less time in long queues and eliminates the need for extra paperwork. Once registered, UAE travelers can smoothly navigate the arrival process at Global Entry kiosks, either at U.S. Customs and Border Protection Pre-clearance facilities or at any U.S. port of entry. This initiative is part of an agreement signed during the recent visit of the UAE President to Washington, aimed at making travel easier for UAE citizens.

New Traffic Radars In Ajman

Starting October 1, driving in Ajman will be significantly safer with the launch of new traffic radars. These advanced devices are designed to detect serious traffic violations, such as using mobile phones while driving and not wearing seat belts. Offenses incur a penalty of AED 400 and four black points on your license. So, if you’re on the road, stay vigilant—these smart radars are ready to help ensure safer driving for everyone.

These updates are part of the UAE’s ongoing commitment to enhance safety, streamline processes, and promote well-being. Whether you’re driving, traveling, or getting married, these new initiatives aim to make life easier and safer for everyone.
