Leave the car behind…
If you’re heading to Sheikh Zayed Road for the Dubai Run this weekend, you can now take the Dubai Metro to get to the event.
To help shuttle riders to the starting points, the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has just announced extended Dubai Metro hours.
The RTA shared on its official Instagram that the Dubai Metro’s Red and Green Lines will operate from 3 AM to midnight on Sunday, November 24, 2024.

If you were worried about getting to the venue, no need to stress. Just make sure you have your nol cards with you and that they have enough balance. For a round trip, the minimum required balance is Dhs15 for a nol Silver card and Dhs30 for a nol Gold card.
About Dubai Run
Dubai Run is one of the city’s most anticipated annual events, part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge event.
The Dubai Run is expected to attract over 200,000 participants this year, with athletes of all levels gearing up to run, jog, or walk either the 5km or 10km route. The event kicks off at 4 AM on Sunday, December 24, welcoming everyone to join in on this fitness celebration.
This fun run is arguably one of the most iconic in the world, taking participants past some of Dubai’s most iconic landmarks. Runners will cruise by the Dubai Mall, Dubai Opera, and the Burj Khalifa. For the seasoned runners, the route stretches all the way to the stunning Dubai Canal, looping back towards the Trade Centre and finishing at DIFC. It’s a truly unforgettable experience, offering a unique perspective of the city’s skyline and architectural marvels.
On Sunday, November 24, 2024, Sheikh Zayed Road will be closed to traffic during the Dubai Run. The RTA has not yet released details about alternative routes or when the roads will reopen, but last year, closures started at 4 AM and were lifted by 10 AM. The public is encouraged to use the metro that morning, with participants in the run advised to get off at the Dubai World Trade Centre station.
