Etihad Airways, the UAE’s national airline, has officially resumed flights to Pakistan after a short pause in operations last week due to recent regional events.
Last week, Etihad confirmed that flights from Abu Dhabi to Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad were rerouted back to the UAE capital due to the closure of Pakistan’s airspace. As a result, outbound flights from those cities to Abu Dhabi were also put on hold, with services like EY296/297 (Abu Dhabi–Karachi) and EY302/303 (Abu Dhabi–Islamabad) among those cancelled.
On Saturday, May 10, Pakistan reopened its airspace following positive developments, and Etihad announced that flights to Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad would resume as per the regular schedule starting today, Monday, May 12. The only exceptions are EY297 and EY303 — the return legs of Sunday’s cancelled EY296 and EY302 — which were not operated early this morning.
Etihad also clarified that passengers transiting through Zayed International Airport (AUH) for cancelled flights wouldn’t be accepted for travel from their departure point — unless they had made separate onward travel plans from Abu Dhabi.
Flight schedules and updates are detailed on Etihad Airways’ travel alerts page.
