How Does The Barrierless Paid Parking System Work?
Forget the old routine of stopping at a gate, waiting for a ticket, and dealing with exit traffic – the new system runs smoothly in the background. Here’s how it works:
- Cameras scan your license plate as you drive in.
- You’ll get an SMS or a notification via the Parkin app with all the details of your parking session.
- If there are any charges, you can easily pay online through the app or website – no need for cash or tickets!
Parkin’s CEO, Mohamed Abdulla Al Ali, says this system will make parking way more efficient, cut down on congestion, and help traffic flow better at some of Dubai’s busiest malls.
Will There Be Changes To Parking Fees?
No need to stress about extra costs – the pricing stays exactly the same as it was before:
- Mall of the Emirates – First 4 hours are free
- City Centre Deira – First 3 hours are free
- City Centre Mirdif – Always free
For anyone staying longer, you can still validate your ticket after shopping to skip any extra charges. Khalifa Bin Braik, CEO of MAF Asset Management, made it clear that the aim of this upgrade is to improve parking management, not to hike up costs.
