UAE Ramadan working hours 2025

Ramadan 2025 working hours will be shortened in the UAE.

Ramadan is almost here…

With Ramadan approaching, there will be several changes, including shorter working hours for both the private and public sectors. The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources has just shared the latest update for the public sector.

Employees of ministries and federal government entities will work from 9 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, working hours will be from 9 AM to 12 PM, unless their job requires different hours.

The authority also stated that flexible work regulations can remain in place within the approved daily working hours, allowing certain employees to work remotely on Fridays during Ramadan. This flexibility is available for up to 70% of the workforce, as per the established guidelines.

We’ll need to wait for official confirmation of these dates from UAE authorities as Ramadan approaches. Stay tuned to What’s On for the latest updates.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, a sacred time when Muslims worldwide fast from sunrise to sunset, refraining from eating, drinking, and smoking.

When will get a confirmation on Ramadan dates

Lasting about a month, Ramadan commemorates the revelation of the Qur’an to the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH). During this time, extra Tarawih prayers are held, and each evening, 1/30th of the Qur’an is recited. By the end of the month, many Muslims have read the entire Qur’an.

Fasting is one of the five pillars of Islam, which form the core principles of the faith. These pillars guide Muslims worldwide in their daily lives, and Ramadan is regarded as the holiest period of the Islamic calendar. It’s a time for prayer, reflection, and spiritual devotion—an opportunity to cleanse past sins and strengthen one’s connection to Allah through acts of kindness and good deeds.
