The UAE has rolled out a bunch of new visa options, making it way easier for people to live and work there.
New visit visas for specialists
The UAE has launched four new visit visa categories tailored for pros in specialized industries — including AI, entertainment, events, cruise liners, and leisure boating. These visas let experts travel to the UAE for work under clearly defined rules.
Humanitarian residence permits
A new humanitarian residency permit is now up for grabs. It’s valid for one year and can be extended based on certain conditions. This visa is meant for individuals who meet specific humanitarian criteria.
Residency for widows and divorcees
Foreign widows and divorcees can now apply for a one-year residency permit, with the option to renew for another year if they meet specific conditions set by the authorities.
Visit visas for friends and family
A new visit visa lets you sponsor a friend or family member — even up to third-degree relatives. Getting approved depends on your income level
Business exploration visas
The UAE has rolled out a business exploration visa for those looking to launch a startup, invest in an existing company abroad, or showcase solid professional experience. To qualify, applicants need to prove they’re financially stable.
Truck driver visas
Truck drivers entering the UAE are now required to have a sponsor, along with health and financial guarantees. These measures help ensure they meet the country’s work and safety standards.
Clear rules for visa duration and extensions
Each visa type now comes with a clearly defined stay period, and the ICP has laid out specific extension rules so applicants know exactly what’s needed.
These new visa options are part of the UAE’s push to attract top talent, support families, and create a more flexible, forward-thinking residency system.
