Team What’s On pick their favorite things in the UAE right now

Here are our current favorite things in the UAE…

Finding my new go-to burger spot at Eleven Green.

Stop the search, I think I’ve found Dubai’s best burger! Tucked away in Meyan Mall, Eleven Green is a no-nonsense burger joint that my foodie friends can’t stop talking about. After trying it for the first time this week, I can confidently say it lives up to the hype. With an American diner vibe in sleek emerald and white, the menu is short but packed with delicious options. Try the El Reno (Dhs59) for juicy patties with a kick of spice on a soft sesame bun, and pair it with a creamy pistachio milkshake (Dhs33) for the ultimate combo.

Planning an epic party just for an excuse to head back to… Zuma’s new private dining room.

Zuma is one of those iconic Dubai restaurants that never fails to impress, and its latest addition, the Ishigaki Wine Room, takes things to the next level. This intimate, 12-seater private dining space is set in a cozy, cave-like wine cellar, with walls lined with around 700 wine labels and 65 sakes, all expertly selected by the sommelier and bar team over the past 15 years. I experienced this exclusive dining setup recently – complete with a dedicated sommelier and waiter – and it’s a one-of-a-kind experience to add to your luxury Dubai bucket list. Perfect for birthdays or special celebrations, you can book it with a minimum spend of Dhs2,000 for lunch or Dhs6,000 for dinner.

Finding my signature scent with… Lush.

When I got an invite to an exclusive dinner with Lush, I knew I couldn’t pass it up—and I’m so glad I didn’t! The event wasn’t just about exploring some of Lush’s iconic fragrances, it was paired with an immersive dining experience by Dinner Tales called Seven Paintings. Each of the seven courses was inspired by a painting from great artists like Michelangelo, Vincent van Gogh, Andy Warhol, and more. Before each dish, we heard the fascinating backstories behind seven of Lush’s legendary scents, including Karma, Lord of Misrule, and American Dream. I fell in love with all the fragrances they showcased, and now I’m on a mission to figure out my favorite so I can grab the other products in that range. Right now, I’m leaning towards Karma and Lord of Misrule!

Making plans to people watch for fashion tips at… Dubai Design District

I don’t often make it out to Dubai Design District, but every time I do, I wish I could go more often because it’s such a cool spot. The vibe, the people, the art, the cafés, and restaurants – there’s just something about d3 that makes it feel like ‘one of the cool kids’ (and I definitely want in). I had to swing by this week for an event, and even though I couldn’t explore much since I had to rush home to avoid traffic, it’s now at the top of my ‘to explore’ list. It’ll probably be one of the first places I check out as soon as the weather cools down.

Taking my Saturday morning workout to the next level at… hot yoga

YOFIT Hot Studios just opened their second Dubai branch in DIFC, and I wasn’t ready for how intense and challenging the experience would be. This isn’t your usual calming yoga – if breaking a sweat in 39-degree heat on all fours isn’t your thing, you might want to skip this. As a first-timer, I quickly realized I had underestimated the heat and had to take a few breaks. The ‘yofiit’ class mixes stretching, toning, fitness moves, and breathwork for a full-body workout. All that sweating? It boosts circulation, detoxifies, and strengthens your immune system. YOFIT Studios is (literally) one of the hottest spots to work out in Dubai right now. You might feel a bit lightheaded afterward, but the endorphin rush makes it totally worth it!

Got my first-ever ‘curly hair cut’ at… Twist Curly Hair Salon.

“Is this your first time at a curly hair salon?” the stylist asked with a smirk as I settled into the chair. When I said yes, her expression made it clear I wasn’t quite prepared for what was about to happen. I can’t believe that after 27 years of being a curly girl (minus those teenage years spent trying to tame my hair), I’ve never been to a salon that specializes in curls. What’s even crazier is that less than 10% of stylists actually know how to cut curly hair. The experience at a curly hair salon is totally different—from the specific cut to the blow-drying techniques and even the brushing and products used. I had no idea my hair could be this curly and voluminous! The beautiful salon is located in B1 Mall, just across from Mall of the Emirates. If you want to embrace your natural curls or start your curly hair journey after years of straightening, visit Twist and get ready to be amazed by your curly potential!

If my mom asks where I am, tell her, I’m home but I’m really at… SKY2.0

One of the best nightclubs in Dubai is back open for the season, and I couldn’t be happier! Until further notice, you’ll find me there on the weekends. Their new Saturday theme, Signature Saturdays, is a blast and has a more Arabic vibe compared to their other nights. Thursday nights are also fantastic, especially with Mister Levier spinning the decks. Honestly, I can’t pick a favorite night because Fridays are also prime for partying. I guess I’ll just have to embrace the sleepless nights and go as often as I can. See you there?@sky2.0dubai

Loving my new kicks from… New Balance

It’s no secret that I’m a sneakerhead, but I’m pretty picky about what I add to my collection. I decided it was time to hop on the New Balance train and picked up a pair of 550s. Let me tell you—they’re super comfy right from the start, no blisters (which is a common issue with new kicks), and they match literally any outfit. They’re so stylish that I’ve dressed them up with a black bodycon and a statement necklace, and I’ve also worn them casually to the office with cute flowy skirts and jeans. I’m already planning to snag another pair. Sorry, Dunks—there’s a new sneaker in town! Just kidding; there’s definitely room in my closet (and my heart) for both of you.

Learning to love my bare face with… The Ordinary’s Soothing Barrier Support Serum.

One of the biggest milestones I achieved this past year is feeling comfortable leaving the house with my bare face. I used to wake up at crazy hours to apply eyeliner and fill in my brows for internships, spending way too much time in front of the mirror before heading out. No judgment to those who still do—I respect the dedication to looking flawless—but for me, it came from an unhealthy mindset. As I took the time to really understand my skin, I learned how to care for it, which ultimately helped me grow as a person. Over the past year, I’ve made huge strides toward self-acceptance, and my skin has never been healthier. Now, as a skincare enthusiast, I’m obsessed with The Ordinary’s Soothing Barrier Support Serum. It has not only calmed my easily irritated skin but also strengthened my skin barrier for protection against external factors. Here’s to embracing and loving yourself!

Converting to appreciating strawberry-flavored things with… Creme’s Strawberry and White Chocolate Cookie!

This limited-edition drop is part of an exciting collaboration, and even though I usually steer clear of strawberry-flavored treats, this strawberry and white chocolate cookie is absolutely divine—just like all the other flavors! Don’t ask me to explain why I’m not a fan of most strawberry flavors; there’s just something off about how synthetic they can taste. But these cookies are a game-changer. They’re sweet, rich, and have a nice tang from the freeze-dried strawberries. You definitely need to try them!
