Airlines have also extended the suspension of flights to Lebanon…
Dubai-based Emirates and flydubai have called off flights to Iraq, Iran, and Jordan due to regional tensions, as mentioned on both airlines’ websites.
On Wednesday, October 2, and Thursday, October 3, there will be no Emirates or flydubai flights from Dubai to Basra, Baghdad, Tehran, or Amman. Passengers transiting through Dubai to these destinations will not be allowed to travel until further notice.
Additionally, the following Emirates flights on Wednesday, October 2, have been canceled:
- EK 837/838: Dubai – Bahrain – Dubai
- EK 855/856: Dubai – Kuwait – Dubai
- EK 31/32: Dubai – London Heathrow – Dubai
- EK 866/867: Dubai – Muscat – Duba
“Due to airspace closures, Emirates has canceled certain flights and rerouted others. We’re closely monitoring the situation and doing everything possible to minimize disruptions for our customers, while supporting those affected,” an Emirates representative told The National.
The suspension of flights from the UAE to Beirut with Emirates, flydubai, and Air Arabia, initially implemented on September 28, has been extended. Emirates has halted flights to Lebanon until October 8, while flydubai’s suspension is in effect until October 7. Air Arabia also confirmed to The National that its flights between Sharjah and Beirut remain suspended.
As the situation in the region continues to change, passengers are encouraged to check their flight status with their airline before traveling.
